1986-1987 : I tried to communicate in a short time my technical know-how to the operation side. In addition, I passed 'step by step' personnel and maintenance functions to the operation side. Pushing on the people, I studied and eliminated some remaining technical problems, and trained a new young engineer.
The set of my technical and organizational activities did improve the manitenance cost by about 30% and the increase in the use of the plant by about 2 percentage points.
Position from 1988 to 1991: as managing director and head of operations of the two UOE pipe mills and two pipe mills SW (spiral welding)
Description:
I was charged of managing the 4 pipe factories of Taranto (OD pipe mills UOE and SW). The small spiral pipe mill nr . 1 and the greater of the longitudinal worked only 40 hours per week (five shifts) , and the other two were standing. I organized the restart of all plants and I redesigned and restarted the whole operating organization, quality control and maintenance systems, residing more than 2 Km among each other, to gear alternating 15-21 work shifts per week, using the same staff for both.
