Today I watch on my screen the
USS 'Anzio'
which takes part in the Indian ocean's fleet
the Somali rebellion they're now bombing.
I see that ship and think to another landing
when me too I was there, beeing a suckling.
Then the occurrence's news I follow hearing
and I remember what happened in Sicily
but this time the ship 'Mafia' doesn't comes
this makes me sudden bursting into laughs.

10 2007 They show in navigation the USS (United States Ship)
'Anzio' during the mission in Somali. The Italian name of
that ship, in memory of an invasion's attempt of Italy during the
last world war, makes me think that when, a little more than suckling, I
did watch, or better it was my mother that assisted from within a cavern
used like a shelter, the landing and invasion in southern Sicily - near Comiso - after
a terrible naval bombing. The strongholds of Catania and Trapani with long-range anti-ship guns were abandoned and the unarmed powerful cannons thrown downstairs.
Many Sicilians deserted and returned to their homes. Despite this, the weak Italian army there was about to make the invasion fail.
Afterwards the invaders did put in command of cities and towns the flower
of the Mafia men, who they did have brought back from USA to help the invasion. Our mafia's problems
then begun again boldly.
I burst into laughs: I don't understand why they
didn't call a ship 'Mafia'? It could be really appropriate
too, ,or not?
