I took part in starting the new pipe mill in Taranto UOE ( TUL2 - 1972), calculated the possible shape/yeldpoint limits of pipes; with the collection and use of suppliers know-how of machinery and materials, I did study write and apply the 'setting up' parameters and operational practices for the entire system.
I wrote the technical specifications used to buy other new machines (trimming the edges, SAW , edge crimper, presses, mechanical expander ) or to improve the production system. Took the test samples at start-up of machinery;
I submitted a report to the International SAW Meeting held in February 1974 at Newcastle Upon Thyne (British steel Corp.).together with researchers of Materials Development Centre' of Rome; in Newcastle I could appreciate the superb whisky.quality.
During fabrication and welding of 'difficult' UOE pipes, I proceeded to set personally operational standards and to begin the campaign.
Been seconded to the DALMINE ERW (Electric Resistance Welded ) pipemill in three months I proceeded production auditing and writing mill setup practices. I performed for them also mechanical and tecnology tests, wrote a report, called the operating protocols and I made them to apply, training their quality control personnel .
