When the end will come, Jesus himself does not say it because it is a prophecy, it is'nt certainly the current situation.

  nadie sabe But as for that day and time nobody knows, in fact, He also tells us: "But as for that day and hour, nobody knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Mt 24, 25).
Therefore, I think that what should scare us is not the ongoing COVID19 pandemic or the so-called 'global' warming, but the ignorance that sometimes leads men to face problems in an irrational and ideological way, thus almost always to meet their own failure with their problems.
If we observe the trend of the graph that shows the instantaneous values of the changes that are taking place in our world, we better understand what Jesus is telling us in the Gospel of this FIRST SUNDAY OF ADVENT.

What I propose to observe (click here to open it in a new window) is the continually updated trend of all that changes on our wonderful little planet called Earth.
In particular, when observing the numbers trends and changes related to the chapter "POPULATION", we may realize that we too have been, are and will be one of those numbers that change drastically; that inexorably sooner or later we all will find our own personal 'apocalypse' and at the inevitable end of this life the JUDGMENT will follow and then ... we hope in the mercy of God.

So what really matters in this world is striving to live by the teachings of Christ. And for this it's necessary in my opinion to read a passage of the Gospel every day, to pray and meditate on it.
But this is not enough: it is also necessary to read, study and document oursevels to understand how each of us, in the position in which God did want to place us and according to our concrete responsibilities, can correctly contextualize the evangelical teaching in his own reality and make an effort for applying it in daily practice.

A NOTE ON POLITICIANS AND POLICIES
For those people who has got some political responsibilities, this is clearly a very heavy burden and the options are more difficult, because if you make the mistake of confusing political ethics with the individual one, as the reality always prevails the consequences of your mistakes will fall out at all times upon your own community.
In the real world, those who pay more the mistakes of politicians are always the weakest and the poorest.
Therefore, as history teaches, in order to reduce the number of the poor, a leveling of values in general is neither necessary nor useful, but the level of the whole society must be raised.
