Scaricare files con estensione midi

MIDI sta per 'Musical Instrument Digital Interface' e significa letteralmente 'Interfaccia Digitale per Strumenti Musicali'. Cliccando un titolo a sinistra si richiamano le pagine che contengono le informazioni su files e i collegamenti per scaricarli.

Con MIDI si possono indicare due cose:

• un linguaggio informatico, ossia una serie di specifiche che danno vita al protocollo.
• un'interfaccia hardware, che consente il collegamento fisico tra vari dispositivi.
  

Il MIDI è nato negli anni ottanta e, nonostante possa essere soppiantato da protocolli moderni molto più performanti, è rimasto pressoché inalterato ed è tuttora intensamente utilizzato nella produzione di musica elettronica. I motivi risiedono probabilmente nel ruolo di standard pressoché incontrastato che esso ha assunto nell'ambito musicale e nella cura riposta dai progettisti nella stesura delle prime specifiche.

Di fatto, il MIDI ha peculiarità interessanti, tra cui quella che più ci interessa qui è la leggerezza dei file MIDI (nell'ordine dei kB) - Tramite Internet e i software multimediali, il MIDI diventa un media di uso comune. I files Midi si possono inserire nelle pagine web e essere attivati o disattivati a comando.
