Ngo Dinh Diem

In memory of the political vietnamese leader assassinated with the complicity of JFK.

Foreword - U.S.A. politics - Who was Ngo Dinh Diem - The Diem Government- Conclusions

Foreword

The first measures of Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. government, better known as Joe Biden, 46th President of the United States of America after the Republican Donald Trump, have confirmed my idea, that I have built over the decades about the American Democrats, when learning of their Presidents moves, especially in foreign policy.
jfk
JFK at the time of Diem assassination
Joe Biden immediately started with threatening sanctions against Putin's Russia for the Navalny affair, then he 'warned' the Burmese generals that if they do not restore democracy U.S.A. will intervene to restore normality in Myammar (Burma). The last one is a new USA military raid in Sirya.
After having canceled all the measures of the previous government, I heard from the TV news that Mr. Biden also removed the sanctions on China previously introduced by his predecessor Trump (is it a fake?), and we will see soon others similar, I'm afraid.

I then came up with the idea of writing this short article in memory of Ngo Dinh Diem, the Vietnamese political leader assassinated on November 2, 1963 with the active complicity of the U.S.A. Democrats and under the pressure of international communism.

With the past experience I would like to say that about US Democrats today, commonly called DEM, some commentators say that they stand out mainly because their ignorance and their gambles in foreign policy.

Under the pretext of supporting and propagating 'democracy', but in reality, I believe, in order to protect particular objectives and their own economic and commercial interests, they apply to the whole world the doctrine enunciated by President Monroe in the annual message to the Congress on December 2, 1823, and which President Theodore Roosevelt reiterated in the 20th century.
The so-called Monroe doctrine, elaborated by John Quincy Adams, expresses the idea of the supremacy of the United States in the American continent: the United States would not have tolerated any interference in American affairs by the powers of the old continent. The message was received in Europe with some surprise and irritation but essentially with indifference, also because, at the time of the spread of that message, at the beginning of the 19th century the United States was still a minor power, which had a meager army and a insignificant navy, and yet pretentiously ordered the Old World not to intrude on the Americas.

If we think about, we will notice that the US Presidents, mainly those on the DEM party, often make decisions that are quite difficult to understand in their motivations. In reality the consequences of their actions make them appear as true warmongers made up like pacifists / progressives, spreading trouble to themselves and to others throughout the whole world.
It is not clear whether "they do or they are it", the American Democrats. Do they believe in democracy and do they really want to promote human rights wherever they think they are violated, or do they act in defense of the western world, rather than interests of financial lobbies that profit from political instability?
Isn't it true that the U.S. Democratic presidents during their 'democratic' presidencies did unleash or did set the conditions of enormous problems?

US foreign policy from World War II onwards

Although I have to acknowledge that the United States has saved me and my country from Soviet communism and be deeply grateful for it, I note here - limiting myself to the period of the end of the Second World War and subsequent ones - the mistakes they made in international politics.
The basis of my 'a posteriori' criticism is what I perceived as a child from the speeches of my parents, and which I subsequently received by reading newspapers and listening, first to the radio news and then to the various TV news programs in the 1950s and later.

1945 - Churchill, Roosevelt and Stalin in Yalta

So, in my opinion, here are the main nonsense by the US Democratic administrations:
  • the conditions of the Yalta agreements accepted by the Democrat Roosvelt, requested by the good old 'Uncle Joe' (Stalin).
Among other things, it took all the energy of the English Prime Minister Churchill (FIRST LEFT IN THE PHOTO) so that the entire Italian navy - almost intact from the war - was not given to the USSR.
  • The aid to Soviet Russia with the 'rent and loan act'. It was in fact a political initiative with which the United States provided allied countries including the Soviet Union and China with immense quantities of war material between 1941 and 1945. It was this alone that allowed the Russians to first block and then repel the Italo-German aggression.
  • The division of Germany into two blocs. The allied army stopped to wait for the Russians to crush the last resistance of the dying Wehrmacht and occupy half of Germany.
  • Financial and material hidden support to General Ho Chi Min and the Indochinese Communists against the French. The war culminated with the battle of Dien Bien Phu (from March 13 to May 7, 1954) and then with France expulsion from South East Asia and establishment of the communist regime in the North Vietnam.
  • Complicity in the assassinations of the 'dictator' Diem and his brother, the subject of this article.
The so-called 'cold war' had already begun in those years and the violent aggression of international communism to the whole world was underway, causing unrest and internal revolt movements in all countries, culminating in the period of '68.
In Vietnam in particular, the Americans allowed - if not actually favored - the elimination of the only bulwark that validly and successfully was opposing communism and the corrupt or traitorous Vietnamese Generals. This was later paid dearly for it, economically and humanly, with the loss of about 50,000 American citizens and causing more than half million of Vietnamese military anc civil victims. Their mistakes culminated in disastrous military defeat.

Let's skip the Cold War and ignore the other nonsense and imprudence committed by the DEM presidents John Fitzgerald Kennedy, Johnson, and Carter, the latter one nicknamed 'peanuts'.
Instead, we recall among 'conservative' presidents the Republican Richard Nixon who lost his reputation and position by the Democrats, mainly for having disengaged from Vietnam, and on the other hand the great merit of the other Republican President Ronald Reagan who cut off the supplies of American cereals to the USSR and together with Pope John Paul II contributed in a decisive way to the collapse of the communist regime.

Picking up with DEM branded policies, the most astounding mistake of the recent past I think was the supporting of jfk
Muammar Gheddafi slaughtered for US 'merit'
the so-called 'Arab Springs' and slaughter of Muammar Gaddafi for US President 'merit'.
Those of the US-style Democratic Party do not lose the original vice of believing that everyone - even primitive savages maybe animists or even Muslims and Hindus - can't wait to be 'democratics' just like them.

The culmination of political idiocy was therefore reached, unless underneath there were economic interests, which I believe I know, on the part of certain well known French ruler who took advantage of the naivety and poor cultural preparation of the first black president of the United States, to try to supplant the Italians in Libya and damage their interests.
The result was disastrous for everyone, from all points of view.
The absurd and erroneous policy of the United States of America has recently destroyed or attempted to destroy "authoritarian" regimes through war and support, perhaps involuntary but factual, for Islamic terrorists, and has sparked the invasion to Europe of illegal immigrants from Africa and the Middle East, and today also from the Far East.
I forgot to say that - obviously - this costs the world hundreds of thousands of deaths and unheard sufferings among the so-called "migrants" and collateral damage to Europe too.
In Italy, all sorts of crime increasing, including slavery, prostitution, exploitation, the spread of drugs, disease, violence and even Islamic terrorism, which is exported to the rest of Europe.
And it is clear to everyone that the invasion particularly impoverishes our country, which until now has welcomed and welcomes all sorts of completely unskilled people, should integrate or maintain them worthily, but fails despite spending several billions of euros every year.

Ngo Dinh Diem

Ngô Đình Diệm was born in northern Vietnam in Huế,Ngo Dinh Diem  Quang Binh province on January 3, 1901, and was assassinated on November 2, 1963, in Cho Lon.
He has been president of the Republic of South Vietnam from 1955 to 1963, until his assassination.
United States Vice President Lyndon Johnson propagandistically dubbed him "the Churchill of Southeast Asia".
People like me remember very well the mobilization in those days of the Italian Communist Party, the strongest Bolshevik party in Europe, in favor of the Vietnamese Communists.
I personally witnessed the march of the hordes of steaming and screaming thugs that went up Via Cavour in Rome, ending in Piazza dei 500 and blocking the C3 bus I had taken to return to my house in Torre Gaia, 14th km of Via Casilina.
At times they broke the threatening silence and rhythmically shouted 'Iè-tna lib-be-róó! Iè-tna lib-be-róó! (they should have said 'Vietnam libero' read Free Vietnam) furiously waving a flood of blood red flags with hammer and sickle.
It was clear that most of the members of that stream of screaming 'trinariciuti' (it is, equipped with three nostrils, definition by which it is meant that these people blindly followed the Party orders without understanding why, how they had plugged orders into their head by a three-pole electrical socket) did not even know what Vietnam was and where it was, and perhaps not even why they was parading.

Who was Ngo Dinh Diem

Born in 1901 into a noble family converted to Catholicism since the seventeenth century, he became official of the French administration at a very young age, while in the thirties he was Minister of the Interior of Emperor Bảo Đại.
During the Second World War, for fear of Japanese reprisals, he left the country and returned after nine years.
In 1954, Diệm and the Vietnamese Catholics did not consider it possible for free elections to be held under the pressure of the Communist Party of Ho chi Min, and therefore opposed the decisions of the Geneva conference on Indochina. In particular, they did not want the calling of a referendum in view of the unification of the country. Diêm thus formed a pro-US government Il presidente Repubbicano
The great General Dwight D. Eisenhower
in southern Vietnam, which relied on the support of the Catholic minority, and in October 1955 deposed Emperor Bao Dai and proclaimed the Republic of Vietnam, becoming the first president of South Vietnam. Then president of the USA - from 1953 to 1961 - was General Dwight D. Eisenhower.
And as long as in US ruled the republicans, everything went properly.

The political climate of the time

The situation in the country has beeen created by the establishment of the communist regime in North Vietnam.
In particular, supporting Diệm there was one million Catholics who fled North Vietnam due to the birth of the Ho Chi Minh government.
To resist the pressure of the Communists, the regime had given itself an authoritarian constitution - in 1956 - but unfortunately the problem was not only the Communists.
There were also religious reasons, namely the fundamentalism of the Buddhist majority, which communism obviously used to foment unrest.
Ngo Dihn Diem, a very honest and deeply religious man, was hated by Buddhists, not only because he was anti-Communist but also because he was a Benedictine oblate, having professed the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience, on 1 January 1954 in the monastery of Sant'Andrea in Bruges.

Buddhists are not always as peaceful and tolerant of other people's religions as the Buddha surely was, and how they are described in the West.
For example, we remember the persecutions of Japanese Buddhists against Christians in the seventeenth and following centuries, with threats of massacres and refined and atrocious torture against thousands of saints, Japanese martyrs of the faith.
After all, did it not take centuries in Europe too for religious tolerance and the sense of law typical of Greco-Roman civilization to be recovered?
The Communist Party of North Vietnam therefore started the turmoil, financed the nascent guerrilla movement, organized in the National Liberation Front and fomented popular revolts and agitation leveraging the anti-Christian religious sentiments of the majority of the population

Unfortunately for Vietnam, the new presidential elections in the US brought up a democratic president, John Fitzgerald Kennedy who remained in office from January 1961 until he too was assassinated in 1963, but still had time to make his fair share of 'democratic' issues.
The impression aroused by the riots on world public opinion and the resonance of events such as the spectacular suicide of a Buddhist monk was great.
The U.S.A opinion movement convinced President John Fitzgerald Kennedy the idea to plot a coup d'etat, prepared by South Vietnamese generals with the help of the US secret services and with his formal endorsement.

The spectacular and atrocious suicide of the Buddhist Bonze Thích Quảng Đức

WITH THE ASSASSINATION OF DIEM WAS DECIDED THE FATE OF VIETNAM, AND THE WAR DESTINY, AT FIRST CREEPING AND THEN FULLY MANIFESTED WITH THE MASSIVE INTERVENTION OF THE US ARMY, AND FINALLY WITH THE MILITARY DEFEAT AND THE ABANDONMENT OF THE VIETNAM TO IT'S DESTINY. Not to mention the environmental damage that afflicted the territories bombed at Napalm and with defoliants. Another poisoned fruit of the US DEM administrations.

The Diem Government

Obviously, the judgment on Ngo Dinh Diem has so far been negative for his qualification as a 'dictator', but especially because he was a fervent Catholic with no leftist ideological connotations.
Against him false and artfully distorted judgments are given, ideological precisely, such as those about General Augusto Pinochet, the one who - on behalf of the Chilean parliament that resides in Valparaiso - blocked the 'coup' attempted by Salvador Allende supported by Fidel Castro, spared Chile the sad fate of becoming like Cuba, and ensured the rebirth and survival of a democratic regime that continues to this day.

Ngo Dinh Family

Yet Ngo Dinh Diem was an honest man, a fervent Catholic, who truly believed with deep faith in Jesus Christ, and as such he could only work to do the good of his people.
Although he introduced some laws in favor of Catholics, he allowed the resumption of certain Buddhist practices that had been banned during the French colonial administration and also built several places of worship for Buddhists.
As a good Catholic he went to Mass every morning, he was a Benedictine oblate and prayed assiduously. He came to Rome with a certain frequency, to go to the Vatican to explain his political positions and ask the Holy Father for advice. After all, his whole family was heroic in faith. In fact, his nephew, a venerable future, Cardinal François-Xavier Nguyên Van Thuán, who was also persecuted by communism, was also studying in Rome, a heroic witness to the faith worthy of a large Christian family.

Diem tried to do what he believed was the good of his people throughout his life, until he was killed by an idiotic and self harming decision by the democratic government of the United States of America, which then cost fifty thousand young american lives cut off prematurely, and a deep economic crisis.

Ngo Dinh Diem knew his country and his compatriots very well, and was the only one who until then managed to keep it free and even economically prosperous by blocking the communist invasion.
In the eyes of Communists and useful idiots, his main flaw, besides being of Catholic faith and favoring Catholics rather than Buddhists in state offices, was therefore that of being able to validly oppose and block the guerrilla and prevent the spread of corruption in the country, as instead happened after South Vietnam fell into the hands of corrupt generals that the US had put in his place.

Ngo go Dinh Diem paid dearly for being a Christian and his love to his country.
Murdered with the approval of a catholic US President.

Buddhists who had supported the Communists out of hatred toward Catholics certainly did not fare well when their friends arrived in Saigon.

Fortunately, some recent academic studies, based on Vietnam-centered sources and views, are starting to present Ngo Dinh Diem in a positive light.
Ngo Dihn Diem was very honest and deeply religious. He was a Benedictine oblate, having professed the vows of poverty, chastity and obedience on 1 January 1954 in the monastery of Saint Andrew in Bruges.
As was to be expected from such a serious and sincere man, attentive and staunch Catholic, Diem has been a competent leader with a long-term vision on nation-building and modernization of South Vietnam, while his vigorous counter-guerrilla action against communists was an obvious and necessary self-defense reaction to the aggression of the enemies of freedom and Christian faith.
Today, Ngo Dinh Diem's economic and social policy is widely regarded by many scholars as positive, because the rapid economic growth in South Vietnam and the construction of new public schools.

However, the communist political movement, which among its main characteristics has to be based on habitual and shameless social lies and envy, still manages to resist in the minds and opinions of too many people, convinced that a collectivist regime is able to promote personal freedom and social justice, and not the material difficulties and deprivations of fundamental human freedoms that it always produces instead.
These are the perverse effects contrary to all evidence, the result of an ideology that I would dare to define demonic, because it is the enemy of all human spirituality.

Hundreds of millions of victims of communism around the world make that crazy criminal named Adolf Hitler look like an amateur.

CONCLUSIONS

After Diem assassination, his sister-in-law, wife of the interior minister Ngo Dinh Nu MURDERED WITH HIS BROTHER, wrote to Jacqueline Kennedy wishing her never to feel the pain that it cost a wife to lose a good husband as had been her one, and a good man like Diem.
It can be said that the Ngo Dinh brothers are two martyrs of the faith and are part of the large group of those that their family has given to the Church in every century.
That of the sister-in-law was almost a prophecy because, the same year of the death of Diem and his brother, JFK was murdered in Dallas, for reasons and circumstances still not clear and fully understood, apparently with a 6.5mm Mannlicher-Carcano rifle (the famous Italian model '91 rifle) owned by Lee Harvey Oswald who fired from a distance of about 500m and hit the President in the back of the head.

Thereafter the Kennendy family lost by murder or by apparent accident all of its members who went into politics.
Whether it was the Mafia to kill JFK, or other lodges of 'democrats', as I have heard from some malicious persons, rather than communists, having allowed or ordered the assassination of Ngo Dinh Diem certainly did not bring luck to JF Kennedy or to any of his family.

This story, which forced me to review some chronicles of the past century, persuades me even more that the left drift - the same one that caused the current Italian situation - also affects the U.S.A.
I hope that the Democrat Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., better known as Joe Biden, 46th President of the United States of America after Republican Donald Trump will work fine.
I sincerely congratulate him on his election and particularly for the help that he intends to give to poor countries, hoping that on the other side he won't do the world too much trouble.

The declaration of independence of the United States of America, document that marked the birth and independence of the federation, took place on July 4, 1776, the date that became a US national holiday (Independence Day), at the Convention of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania .
About 240 years have passed since then, and at the pace of today, given the miserable shows we have seen on TV, it could be inferred that the invasion of irregular immigrants and multiculturalism could be the decadence of the currently most powerful state in the world, or, conversely, could also mark the beginning of a turnaround. Sooner or later everything human passes and everything must end and change.

HOWEVER AND WITH ANY PRESIDENT THE USA STILL ENJOY ADVANTAGES AND HAVE CHARACTERISTICS THAT WE DO NOT HAVE IN ITALY

  • THERE THEY ARE PRACTICAL PEOPLE WHO HAVE GREAT INITIATIVE AND FEW CHATTING.
THERE ARE HUGE TANKS OF TECHNICAL AND RESEARCH SKILLS IN EVERY FIELD - MOSTLY PRIVATE AND EFFICIENT.
  • EDUCATION OF EXCELLENCE IS CONSIDERED AN INVESTMENT FIRST FOR THE INDIVIDUAL INTEREST AND THEN - AS A CONSEQUENCE - FOR THE SOCIETY.
  • PEOPLE GENERALLY HAVE POWERFUL WORKING CAPACITIES AND IN THEIR TERRITORIES HUGE RESOURCES OF RAW MATERIALS AND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION CAN BE FOUND.
  • THERE THEY DO NOT WASTE TIME IN EMPTY TRADE UNION LITURGIES AS HERE ON US, EVEN IF SOME SOCIALISM ADVANCE TIMIDLY, BUT THERE IS NO CGL (communist italian work union). THEIR TRADE UNIONS TAKE CARE OF PRACTICAL THINGS. NO WOOLGATHERS.
  • THOSE WHO ARE WORTH OR KNOW HOW TO WORK GO FORWARD, AND MANY ALSO MAKE A LOT OF MONEY, BUT IF YOU DON'T WORK WELL AND YOU DON'T PRODUCE YOU ARE FIRED.
  • THERE IS GREAT FREEDOM TO MOVE AND TO DO ENTERPRISE AND BUSINESS THAT IN ITALY EVEN ONE CAN NOR DREAMS.
  • THE SUPPORTERS OF SOCIALISM ARE STILL A MINORITY GROUPS

ON THE OTHER SIDE WE ITALIANS HAVE ENTERED EUROPE LINKED Magistratura corrotta e politicizzata HANDS AND FEETS TO LUTHERANEGIANT AND BORIOUS GERMAN PUMPINKS, TOGETHER WITH CERTAIN 'FRUGAL' (?*) AND LITTLE POPULATED NORTHERN COUNTRIES.
EVEN IN ITALY WE COULD HAVE GREAT POTENTIALITY, IF OUR NATION SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN AFFLICT, CONFUSED, CHOKED AND DEPRESSED BY THE LEFTIST POLITICS THAT STEP BY STEP HARMED US WITH TIDES OF CONFUSED, OPPRESSIVE, AND REDUNDANT LAWS DURING THE LAST 60 YEARS.
MORE, THE LEFTISTS POLITICS DELIVERED THE COUNTRY IN THE HANDS OF GROUPS OF POLITICIZED MAGISTRATES. ABOUT THIS ONE CAN READ THE BOOK OF LUCA PALAMARA AND ALESSANDRO SALLUSTI (SIDE), IF IT WILL STILL BE AVAILABLE IN THE BOOKSHOPS.

Do you think that in another country in the world - EXCEPT THE MADURO'S VENEZUELA - events such as those described in this book would pass almost unnoticed as we do in Italy?
I think that in any other country the news that some groups of politicized magistrates have assigned themselves the strategic positions of power and the suspicion-certainty that they have radically changed the history of the nation in agreement with the politicians of a certain party, would have blown many heads and by popular acclaim caused healthy changes. Actually, I don't know, but we'll see what happens in Italy.

MOREOVER IT WAS BORN FROM US - CHERRY ON A SHIT CAKE - THE SUPREMELY DUMMY IDEA THAY THE ECONOMY CAN GLADLY DECREASE.
FOR NOW WE PULL FORWARD THE SAME, BUT HOW? BAH !?

This article was written freely and without conditioning by Lino Bertuzzi  between 20 and 26 February 2021, at the suggestion of Giancarlo Scafidi, of whom the author hopes to gain approval. Translated by the author.

(?*) IN SOME PLACES I WAS THERE IN THE 1980s AND THERE I TRAVELED - FOR WORKING REASONS - IT DOES NOT APPEAR TO ME THAT THE QUALIFICATION OF 'FRUGAL' SUITS VERY MUCH AMONG WOMEN FOR SALE IN THE SHOWCASE, RED LIGHTS DISTRICTS, STREETS WHERE PEOPLE DRINK LITERS OF BEER STANDING NEXT TO MUSHROOM TABLES AT HEIGHT OF MAN, SHOWCASES FULL OF SWEETS AND CAKES, FREE DRUGS AND OTHER ABERRATIONS.
MAYBE THE WORD HAS THE SENSE THAT THEIR GOVERNMENTS - EVEN IF THEY SAY THEY ARE SOCIAL DEMOCRATS - ARE LESS DISHONEST, DON'T WASTE PUBLIC RESOURCES, AND STATE EMPLOYEES REALLY WORK, MAYBE BECAUSE BUROCRACY IS ESSENTIAL AND SIMPLE.
AND THEN ALMOST ALL OF THESE ARE NOT REPUBLIC, BUT CONSTITUTIONAL MONARCHIES. SO THE KINGS/QUEENS ARE NOT PARTISANS AS OUR PRESIDENTS FOR US, BUT THEY ARE INDEPENDENT AND ABOVE ALL THEY ARE EDUCATED TO FULFILL THE ROLE THAT THEY HAVE IN THEIR DNA. THEY TAKEB CARE MORE FOR THE GOOD OF THE NATION AND NOT THAT OF A PARTY OR A POWER GROUP.

Story of a HERO of the Christian Faith, François-Xavier Nguyên Van Thuán, catholic Cardinal, nephew of Ngo Dinh Diem-

As evidence of the claim that the proverbial pacifism Il presidente Repubbicano
François-Xavier Nguyên Van Thuán
of Buddhists is a lie, and that Christians have always been persecuted because of their faith even in Indochina, we find Nguyên Van Thuán with his whole family, who have the martyrdom in his DNA and gave the Church hundreds of martyrs.
In 1885 the whole maternal family (with the exception of his grandfather, who was in Malaysia at the time) perished in the fire in his village, set on fire because it was inhabited by Christians.
Of the paternal family between 1668 and 1885 there were many persecuted and killed for the faith.
When he too was imprisoned by the Communists, his mother had a rosary prayed for him every evening. It was not asked for his liberation, but that he remain faithful to the Church and forgive his persecutors. In such a family, it is normal for a hero like François-Xavier Nguyên VanThuán to be formed in a Christian manner.

IN SUMMARY

  • He was born in Huế on April 17, 1928.
  • He entered the seminary at 13 (1941).
  • He was ordained a priest on 11 June 1953. He belonged to the same family, of ancient Catholic tradition, as the South Vietnamese president Ngô Đình Diệm and Archbishop Pierre Martin Ngô Đình Thục, other brother of the latter.
  • He graduated in Canon Law in Rome in 1959.
  • Professor, rector of the seminary and vicar general of the diocese of Huê since 1960.
  • Appointed titular bishop of the diocese of Nha Trang on April 13, 1967.
  • Appointed coadjutor archbishop of Saigon in 1975 on August 13, 1975
  • Arrested by the police two days later, imprisoned by the Viet Cong and placed in solitary confinement, because he is an enemy of the people and a spy for Westerners.
  • He spent 13 years in prison, nine of them in solitary confinement starting August 16, 1975.
  • Released on November 21, 1988, the day on which the Catholic Church celebrates the feast of the Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary in the Temple. Expelled from the country by him.
  • He moved to Rome in 1991, when he was sure he could no longer return to Viet Nam
  • Appointed in 1998 president of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace by Pope John Paul II.
  • Lent of 2000: commissioned by John Paul II to hold spiritual exercises for the entire Roman curia.
  • Raised to the rank of Cardinal by Pope John Paul II in the consistory of February 21, 2001.
  • Died at 6 am on September 16, 2002 at the age of 74 of colorectal cancer. The funeral was held on 20 September at 5.30 pm at the Altar of the Confession of St. Peter's Basilica, and the funeral liturgy was presided over by Pope John Paul II, who gave the homily and the rite of the last commendatio and valedictio. The Eucharistic liturgy was celebrated by Cardinal Angelo Sodano, Secretary of State
  • Transfer of the body On June 6, 2012 with a solemn ceremony presided over by Cardinal Peter Kodwo Appiah Turkson, from the tomb located in the Verano Cemetery to a specific one established at the diaconate of Santa Maria della Scala, of which he had been the holder.
  • The heroic nature of his Christian virtues was recognized by the decree of the Holy See. He has been venerable since May 4, 2017.

The story of his behavior in prison during the years in which he was a prisoner of the Communists represents an exceptional example of priestly and human heroism.
Secretly from the jailers he manages to celebrate Mass from memory, confess and give communion to the faithful present in the prison with makeshift means: a bottle of wine passed off as medicine for stomach pain, tiny fragments of Host for the celebration of the Eucharist, and an empty pack of cigarettes used as a tabernacle, pyx, and case for worship.

The Bishop communicates with the outside thanks to a 7-year-old boy, who provides him with paper and pencil in prison and who then with an innocent air manages to bring out the messages of the imprisoned bishop to his community.

At home, the older brothers of the child copy and distribute them. Thus were born the Bishop's books - also translated into Italian, whose dominant theme is hope.
The authorities fear him, because he speaks of love and forgiveness and risks "contaminating" the guards; they get to the point of replacing the picket every two weeks, but in the end they have to give up, because this man, unarmed and powerless, with his mere presence and his testimony, is extremely contagious.
In the hard years of complete isolation, in addition to the Mass, he has no other consolation than to re-read the 300 phrases of the Gospel, memorized and transcribed on pieces of paper and which he always carries with him, together with two stinking pages of the Osservatore Romano (The Holy Siege newspaper), used to wrap a fish received as a gift, but which make him feel the bond with the Church of Rome.

Obviously the left-wing media, remembering Cardinal François-Xavier Nguyên Van Thuán, could not help but insult the equally heroic President of South Vietnam Ngo Dinh Diem, a great Catholic, who has been assassinated by Vietnamese generals bribed with the authorization of (Catholic) President John Fitgerald Kenendy.
Otherwise Diem probably would have spared his homeland the tragedy of war and more than 500,000 victims.
But in leftist thinking, the deads count for little. What that it counts is the defense of the dummy ideology that usually brings death and hunger, and plagued our world in the last two centuries.

And what is Vietnam today?
