Jesus of Nazareth |
Joseph Ratzinger BENEDICT XVI |
Pope Benedict did not intend to write a 'Life of Jesus', as there are other excellent works on the subject, but rather a theological treatise on the mysteries of Jesus' life. The author himself makes clear that his desire was to illustrate the 'figure and the message' to find a real Jesus, only after which it becomes possible a 'christology from below'. In this second part we meet the words and decisive events in the life of the Lord, and Pope Benedict has tried to develop a look about him that he could become meeting and listening, to arrive at the certainty of the historical figure. The book will be helpful to all readers who want to meet Jesus and believe him. |

LANGUAGE:english - Pope Benedict in this first part intended to make the attempt to present the Jesus of the Gospels as a real Jesus, the historical Jesus in the true sense, in order to highlight a historical portrait, sensible and convincing. If the figure of Jesus and his words radically exceeded all the hopes and expectations of, critical research asks the question of how unknown groups could be so creative and impose itself and be so convincing in such a short time since the crucifixion. Understand it and explain it, is but possible only starting from the mystery of God.. |

Jesus von Nazareth. |
Joseph Ratzinger BENEDICT XVI |
Libri ORO, Rizzoli (Italian translation) |
Marzo 2008 e segg. |
LANGUAGE:german - This little book is a kind of introduction, a sort of prequel to that described in the two volumes on Jesus of Nazareth by the same author, with which Pope Benedict intends and hopes that it will help the reader on its way to and with Jesus. In addition to the historical component, as in the other two volumes, through exegesis he intends to answer the questions: Is it true what has been said in the Gospels of Matthew and Luke? What about me? And in what way? |

The Ratzinger report |
Joseph Ratzinger BENEDICT XVI |
LANGUAGE:english - Interview by Vittorio Messori to Pope Benedict XVI, which is the longest and most complete in his rare interviews. The portrait, which denies many interpretations of certain interested and politically qualified press, is that of a man who has always followed and follow Jesus in every area of his life and Pontiff ministry, and who has been for decades the most valid aid for St. John Paul II. It pays to read it, to realize how are unfounded and unjustified certain comments of certain newspapers and certain characters, and how they are inconsistent, and sometimes stupid, their criticisms of this most worthy and holy person. |
