1986-1987 : Tried to communicate in a short time my technical know-how to the operation side personnel. In addition, I passed 'step by step' personnel and maintenance functions to the operation side. Pushing on the people, studied and eliminated some remaining technical problems, and trained a new young engineer.
The set of my technical and organizational activities did improve the manitenance cost by about 30% and increased the plant working ratio of about 2 percentage points.
Position from 1988 to 1991: managing director and head of operations of two UOE pipe mills and two pipe mills SW (spiral welding)
Description:
I was charged of managing the 4 pipe factories of Taranto site (OD pipe mills UOE and SW). The small spiral pipe mill nr . 1 and the greater longitudinal worked only 40 hours per week (five shifts), and the other two were standing.
I organized to restart all plants and redesigned and restarted the whole operating organization, quality control and maintenance systems. The plants were located more than 2 Km from each other, and I arranged to gear both plants alternating 15-21 8 hrs work shifts per week, using the same staff for both plants. .
